  • We need this as well. We reported a bug in exportcolumn two years ago...(It was only re-reported and fixed later in the https://github.com/varigence/BimlPit/issues/138)

But we're still waiting for "the next release", now more than half a year later!

Releases need to be more often than yearly!

I'm trying to convince my department to use BIML, but it's kind of hard when we can't even make a basic example without errors in the resulting packages.

  • Same here.

Especially "Fixed bug where sometimes the active document could have its contents replaced with the contents of a different edited document" would have saved me hours, because i didn't realize, that content was replaced.

  • Did anyone ever find a link to download 2020? I am running in to bugs with Visual Studio 2019 that is causing me to have to uninstall/reinstall the plugin which is not good.  Given the 2020 release notes mention improved Visual Studio 2019 support, I am holding out hope it will fix my issues.

  • I have several bugs in BIML 2019 in VS 2019. When will 2020 R1 be released?

  • As mentioned above we've had problems for two years now with a bug in BIML Express.

I wrote again in july to ask for the new release... I got this ridiculous answer:
"BimlExpress is a free product with no support, though we do our best to assist customers with our available capacity. BimlExpress has no pre-define ship schedule and updates are released when ready.

BimlStudio and BimlFlex, in addition to having bundled premium support, are shipped more frequently, approximately 3x/year.

If you are interested in upgrading to BimlStudio or BimlFlex, please let us know. Otherwise, we tentatively plan to ship a new version o BimlExpress in August.

    Thank you,

    Varigence Support Team"

So august?... well, not so. It is now september, and I just checked the file you get when you click the BIMLExpress download. It is the exact same file as it has been for more than a year.

Since the release has already been completed THEY ONLY NEED TO PUT THE FILE ONLINE!
It would probably have been quicker to publish the file, than to type out the reply I got.

I wonder if Varigence really thinks this is the reputation they want.

When people try out BIMLExpress for their prototypes, and it does not work, do you think they will get funding for BIMLStudio?  Hell no...

  • Any news around any update to BimlExpress? I just started using Biml and I'm suffering from some of the things that are supposed to be fixed in the 2020 R1 release.
