Connect to a source system with a custom source REST API in integration stage

I am a new user of BimlFlex and BimlStusio and I currently use CozyRoc's Rest Source component in our SSIS tasks. 
I would like to know if it is possible to connect to a source system with a custom source REST API. 
If not, what would be the best way to proceed for the integration of our sources from our in-house Rest APIs.

Hello since the last version of BimlFlex a new system type of connection appeared for a source system. I wonder if this new way of connecting is documented. I would like to understand what to enter in the CATALOG section. Does anyone have an example?
